June Update – Gym & Fitness

The Thanyapura Fitness Centre has become bigger and better, with some exciting new changes to both the team and the addition of the popular XFit Program.

IMG_6817Joining the team is Fitness Manager Natasha Dillon, whose expertise is centered on yoga. Natasha will be teaching yoga classes as well as taking on private one-to-one sessions, which will focus on improving flexibility and alignment to improve your yoga practice.

The Fitness Centre has welcomed two new Personal Coaches – Adam Smith and Stefan Lange. Adam specializes in weight loss, beginners and Olympic lifting movements and will also be our new XFit coach. Stefan’s main focus is in sport rehabilitation, analysis and working on the back and core.

XFIT is “functional movements that are constantly varied at high intensity” that focus on core strength and conditioning. It is primarily designed to help the body move in a more efficient way and become more adaptable to everyday lifestyle conditions.

XFit classes are scaled and suitable for all ages and physical conditions. The philosophy behind XFit training is an all-inclusive lifestyle change. It offers the client a chance to expose themselves to many training methods and philosophies, which will both benefit the body and the mind.

Classes will be held at different times through the week at the Thanyapura Birdcage, which is our new XFit room, and will be open to all fitness levels. The classes will run for 60 minutes in total and will be broken down into three segments – stretch and flexibility, practicing a gymnastic-style movement and then a Workout of the Day (WOD).

The Thanyapura Fitness Centre brings together some of the greatest minds, coaches and knowledge from around the world to enhance your performance in life, sports and competition.
